How to Prepare for a Website Project
Clients sometimes arrive at a first call with everything ready, and sometimes with only a rough idea. Both are fine — but the projects that go fastest share a few kinds of preparation. Here is what helps most.
Know the goal, not just the pages
“We need a website” is a starting point, not a goal. The useful version sounds like: “We want more consultation bookings” or “We want customers to browse products and order on WhatsApp.” A clear goal shapes every design and content decision that follows.
Gather your real content early
Your logo, real photos of your work or products, and honest descriptions of your services are the raw material of a credible website. Projects stall far more often on missing content than on design or code.
Collect sites you like — and say why
References are useful, but the reason matters more than the link. “I like how clear their pricing is” or “I like how bold this headline feels” gives a designer something to work with. You do not need design vocabulary — plain language is perfect.
Decide who answers questions
Every project hits moments that need a quick decision: approving a direction, choosing between options, confirming copy. One responsive point of contact keeps momentum. Silence is the real timeline killer.
Ready when you are
If you have even half of the above, you are ready to start. Our process begins with a discovery conversation precisely to fill the gaps. Book a call and we will take it from there.
